Dance Marathon

UNC’s 12th Annual Dance Marathon was held last month to raise money for the NC Children’s Hospital. More than 1000 students stood and danced for an entire day to raise $400,000 — a new record for the event. NC Comedy Farts Festival

The month of February has drawn to a close, and with it, the end of the tenth annual North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival, which brought four solid weeks of comedy to Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Another festival, however, is ready to explode onto the local scene. Today, the honorable Jacqueline Helvée, event organizer, tells us all about the upcoming North Carolina Comedy Farts Festival. “Dangerous” Improvisors Hit Carrboro

The NC Comedy Arts Festival is in its third week — the improv comedy week. Hundreds of comedians from across the nation have descend on Carrboro, raising the town’s population by four percent and generating thousands in local revenue. But not everyone is excited — in fact, some are worried about the dangers posed by the festival’s success.
